The Lovejoy Independent School District is quietly tucked away 3 miles east of Allen and about 25 miles north of Dallas in the quickly developing region of central Collin County. The district serves the city of Lucas, most of Fairview, and a small portion of Allen. All high school students (grade 9-12) were previously bussed to Allen High School in the neighboring Allen Independent School District, until fall 2006 when Lovejoy High School opened its doors.
