Recognized as one of the fastest growing cities in the United States, Frisco boasts a unique suburban lifestyle just on the outskirts of the big city.
Home to a trio of sports franchises including a Major League Soccer team (FC Dallas), a Texas League AA baseball affiliate of the Texas Rangers (the Frisco RoughRiders) and the Junior A hockey team (the Texas Tornado), Frisco appeals to both families and young professionals alike.
Frisco Square, a mixed-use development that will become the cities new downtown district is currently under construction. The Square will have over 3.5 million square feet of retail, living, and municipal space to include the City Hall, library, public commons and police department.
Bisected by Preston Road, the eastern portion of Frisco is home to the Plantation Resort Golf Cub, the Shawnee Trail Sports Complex (a 17 acre multi use sports facility) and the Centennial Medical Center. Frisco East is also home to the Frisco campus of Collin County Community College. Much of Frisco East is currently under development as the city is experiencing exponential growth.
The western portion of the city is home to the Stonebriar Centre, a 165 store regional mall, an IKEA store and numerous retail and restaurant chains lining Preston Road (one of the cities main thoroughfares). Western Frisco is also home to the Stonebriar Country Club (a 36-hole golf course, with eight lighted outdoor tennis courts, a swimming pool, and a 65,000 square-foot clubhouse) and is just minutes away from Lake Lewisville (one of the metroplex's finest lakes).
Being in the middle of the metroplex's "Golden Corridor," Frisco even saw a 203% population increase in 2001 and has seen similar numbers in subsequent years. Frisco offers access the Deep Ellum area, Lower Greenville, the West End and all that the downtown Dallas arts district has to offer (just a short 30 minute drive away).
