The Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame and Billy Bob's (the world's largest country and western music venue) are both located in this city. Also located in the area are Meacham International Airport, Alliance Airport and the 250,000 seat stadium the Texas Motor Speedway.

The southern part of the city is also home to Texas Christian University, Southwestern Baptist Seminary as well as the Colonial Country Club and Annual Colonial Golf Tournament (a nationally televised and nationally renown golfing event).
