Coppell Homes for Sale

The city is a vibrant kid friendly community located just the right distance from the big cities of Dallas and Fort Worth. The city features an extensive park, hike and bike system, Riverchase Golf Course, a new multi-million dollar tennis facility, aquatics complex, Historic Grapevine Creek Park, (where General Sam Houston encamped), Saturday Farmer's Market in Old Town Coppell, and the annual Independence Day parade.

Originally called Gibbs Station in 1887, after Texas lieutenant governor Barnett Gibbs, the city was renamed in 1892 to Coppell. Like its' obscure original namesake the town remained hidden until the development of DFW International Airport, five miles to its' south, in the mid-1970's. As the planes took off from the runways so did the sleepy community of Coppell.

Most of the homes for sale in Coppell will feed into the highly regarded, Coppell Independent School District. However there are a number of Coppell homes for sale on the east side of the city that feed into the Carrollton - Farmer's Branch Independent School District while some of the northern homes for sale in Coppell will feed into the Lewisville Independent School District.
