Committed to their historical preservation, the city is home to the Burleson Heritage Foundation, a volunteer-supported preservation group based out of the Burleson Heritage Visitor's Center in Old Town Burleson. Chronicling the cities legacy dating from the small railroad village of the 1880's through the modern boom of the last few decades, the group hosts school tours, key note speakers and community events each year. The Burleson Library and a museum are located in the Victorian home of the Clark and Renfro families, built in 1893.

The epitome of a big city suburb, Burleson is also famous for the annual Christian students event "See You at The Pole," where students of all ages convene at a flagpole in front of their local school for prayer, scripture-reading and hymn-singing, during an early morning hour preceding the start of the school day. The now national event began in Burleson.
