Placing it just close enough to the metroplex's urban amenities, but just far enough away for down home comfort Aubrey embodies rural suburban living. Home to about 3,000 people, the small rural town of Aubrey is known best for two things- its peanuts and its horses. This rustic Texas farm community was originally named Onega (way back in 1881) but was quickly renamed Aubrey by the process of drawing a name from a hat in an old town community meeting.

Aubrey Real Estate and Unique History
In the 1980's peanut farming took over as the main crop (eclipsing cotton), and today the residents of Aubrey and its surrounding areas celebrate an annual Fall Peanut Festival. Also, Aubrey is knows as the "Horse Capital of Texas" for its abundance of horse ranches. With sandy, fertile land and moderate climate Aubrey is a prime location for ranching and horses and is still only 45 minutes from DFW International Airport and 15 minutes from the city of Denton.
